Electronic Cigarette Facts

E-cigarette, or electronic cigarette, is a battery-powered device that resembles ordinary cigarettes.

Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist, invented the e-cigarette in 2003 with the intention of using it as an alternative to traditional smoking.
An e-cigarette includes, in addition to the battery, an atomizer and a cartridge containing either a nicotine or a non-nicotine liquid solution.
When the gadget is turned on, the battery heats the liquid in the cartridge and the atomizer vaporizes it, releasing a mist that the user inhales.
As a result, e-cigarette use is generally referred to as vaping, a word also applied to the use of related devices such as vape pens and e-hookahs.
The form and size of an e-components cigarettes define its look. In rare cases, an e-cigarette may be mistaken for a traditional cigarette due to its look and the vapors it releases.
Other varieties of e-cigarettes, on the other hand, look like a cigar, a smoking pipe, or a ballpoint pen. E-cigarettes can be either reusable or disposable.

After being left in the "most awful anguish" imaginable, a 23-year-old womanhas made a desperate plea to "please stop vaping."
Grace Brassel awoke in late June in discomfort and coughing up blood before an x-ray revealed that her left lung had completely collapsed.
The American university student said in a TikTok video that she was diagnosed with spontaneous pneumothorax, which is the rapid start of a collapsed lung with no apparent explanation.
She was then sent to the hospital for emergency surgery and spent the following four days in the hospital, three of which she spent with another tube in her lung.
Ms Brassel said her unexpected illness was caused by genetics and her height and weight, but she added that her use of e-cigarettes may have made the situation fatal.
'This wasn't directly caused by vaping, but it might have killed me,' she explained.
She went on to say that physicians inserted a "huge tube" into her lungs to pull fluid out, and that the experience was the "most terrible pain" she'd ever felt.
Ms Brassel was taken back to the hospital a week later, still splattering blood, for emergency surgery to repair her lung. Doctors removed pieces of the 23-year-lung old's that had collapsed during surgery.

'Then they go inside with an extremely harsh and sharp scrubber thing and scrub my lung and my rib till it's really raw and inflamed, almost like a horrible rug burn on the inside of your organ,' she explained.
When I woke up from the surgery, I asked the nurse if this is what death is, if I was dying.
Cried out the social media influencer.
It was one of the most horrific pains I’d ever experienced and it would not end. One of the nurses started crying because she felt so awful, because it’s known to be one of the most horrific surgeries ever. I felt like I was drowning.
she explained.
I [now] know what it feels like to be tortured.
She also added. She is now hopeful that her experience will persuade others to stop vaping, as e-cigarettes have taken a huge hold on younger people all around the world.
She acknowledged that vaping was not the direct cause, but that her habit would not have helped her.
Ms. Brassel also added.
A lot of it has to do with being thin and tall but vaping does not help and I will never vape again in my life.

Does Vaping Count As Smoking?

What Does Vaping Do To Your Body?

It makes you need a cigarette and induces withdrawal symptoms if you ignore the craving. Nicotine is a poisonous chemical. It elevates your blood pressure and adrenaline levels, increasing your heart rate and your risk of having a heart attack.

Can Your Lungs Recover From Vaping?

Your circulation and lung function begin to improve after two weeks. After one to nine months, your breathing becomes clearer and deeper; you have less coughing and shortness of breath; and you regain the capacity to cough productively rather than hacking, which cleans your lungs and reduces your risk of infection.

Conclusion

It is believed that at least 400,000 people in Australia are currently using electronic cigarettes, including one-tenth of the population of NSW aged 16-24, where numbers have risen in the past year.
