Although it was on the large side, Navarre Beach Fire Rescue Chief Danny Fureigh stated that sharks washing up on beaches wasn't rare.
He said:

People saw the shark, regrettably, had a hook in its mouthwhen images and video of it were posted online.
One individual commented on the video, stating: “Looks like that great white had been hooked by some fishing gear. Even when the line is cut or breaks, the damage caused by the struggle itself can lead to eventual death for a shark in the hours or days after, known as post-release mortality.”
Someone else commented, “So sad. What a loss. She was only estimated to be 30 years old.. that’s young for a great white. So she didn’t die from old age.”
“You can see the hooks in [her] mouth and like they’ve been cut off,”a third commenter said.
The reason of death has not yet been made public.
The fact that this shark is not the same one that was captured off Navarre Beach earlier this month and released was also confirmed by officials.
The dead female shark did not have the same markings, according to officials, and the shark had a scar on its back.
Since they are protected, great white sharks must be set free if they are captured.
The NOAA Fisheries Apex Predators research biologist Michelle Passerotti stated that one benefit of the shark's demise is the opportunity to conduct further in-depth research on the enormous creature.
Passerotti wrote on Facebook, "These types of strandings, while sad, are an incredible opportunity for research in species that we rarely have an opportunity to study so thoroughly."
