However, this idea can also assist us in understanding what God is or is not doing in other areas of our lives. God will generate fruit in the lives of this man and woman whenever he is genuinely bringing two people together and they are not defying his will. Thus, after you've met the person God wants you to marry someday, these are the five things he will bring into your life.
God bestows many gifts on his people via the covenantal union of marriage. God blesses us with each other's company, sex, and the financial benefit of two people working together. The major benefit of marriage, however, is that you will have a ministry partner with whom you may serve God in a way that is superior to being single, outweighing all other benefits. I'm not claiming that married people can serve God more efficiently than single people. Instead, I'm bringing attention to the reality that God will only call a person to marriage if they will be better able to serve God in marriage as opposed to being single. God has invited you to purposefully stay single if you were wired to serve him more successfully while you were single.
However, God has created most Christians to function best in marriage-related situations. For example, Paul does not claim that everyone would be better off married or single if you read through 1 Corinthians 7. Instead, he says, "I wish that all were as I myself am," in 1 Corinthians 7:7. However, God has given each person a unique gift of one kind or another.
Like Paul, you either have the gift of singledom, or like many others, you have the gift of marriage. In any case, 1 Peter 4:10–11 says that God has invited us to use our gifts to honor him. Therefore, if God leads you to marriage, this relationship will be the foundation of a strong ministry alliance.
According to John 17:21, all Christians are expected to exhibit a supernatural oneness as the church, which will serve as a testament to the outside world that something about usis unique. If the Holy Spirit is not creating this unity in his people and they are not yielding to the Spirit's guidance, then it is not only difficult but impossible to achieve. Individually, this also holds true in a Christian marriage. A Christian man and woman should have such a harmonious partnership that it serves as a witness for Christ to the outside world. This does not imply that problems will never arise between you and this individual. But God wants us to approach our problems in a different way as Christians than the outside world does.
There will be obstacles in the path when God reveals them. However, because you will be mirroring the love that Christ and the church have for one another, he will also use his Spirit to create a holy oneness between the two of you that will exalt him. "Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh," according to Ephesians 5:31–32. I am claiming that this profound riddle alludes to Christ and the church.
A woman holding a book in the sunlight We frequently have a vacuum mentality while considering dating and marriage. It goes without saying that the two individuals in a relationship are the ones it impacts the most. However, we must never live our lives in a vacuum as Christians. God has commanded us to show our love to everyone.
Stated differently, everything in our lives, including our relationships, must be governed by the two biggest commandments, which together contain all of the biblical commandments:
“„Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?’ And [Jesus] said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 22:36-40)
A relationship needs to be an expression of love for God and other people in the world, in addition to love between the two individuals in it in order to be considered biblical. When God is in a relationship, friends, family, churchgoers, and future offspring will also be blessed.
There is always turmoil in relationships. You two will always be put to the test at some point. Nothing can separate you if this person is really the one God wants you to marry. God will give you two a supernatural grace that will enable you to forgive one another when misdeeds or problems arise.
It's true that you shouldn't always stay together when dating. When someone has proven themselves to be unreliable and unfit for marriage, you may have to forgive them while simultaneously letting them go. However, this is not the right individual when that occurs. If someone is really the one God has for you, you will both be able to extend forgiveness and grace when it's necessary to stay together (1 Peter 3:7-9).
Individuals get married frequently without receiving God's approval. Without a doubt, you have the power to choose to be with someone and to stick with them. But a relationship that is centered on God does not look like this. We cannot obey God's will without God's grace operating in our lives, thus when we are living in God's purpose for our lives, we will be completely dependent on Jesus.
In John 15:5, Jesus declared, "I am the vine; you are the branches." You cannot accomplish anything without me, so whomever abides in me and I in him is the one who bears great fruit. It goes without saying that we are able to act outside of Christ. For instance, we can sin if we leave Christ. Thus, Jesus is implying that if we leave him, we will be unable to accomplish anything positive.
